1.OVERVIEW
Acocrding to Wikipedia Alzheimer's disease (AD), also called Alzheimer disease or simply Alzheimer's, is the most common cause of dementia, afflicting 24 million people worldwide. Alzheimer's is a degenerative and terminal disease for which there is currently no known cure. In its most common form, it occurs in people over 65 years old although a less-prevalent early-onset form also exists.
Alzheimer affects in the part of the brain called the Hippocampus. This area is responsible for learning and mempory among other functions. The different synaptic connections transmiting information of different memories start working erratically. Patients may be able to remember a song when they were 15 years old but not their own child.
Constant learning and family support are so important for patients with this condition. Since it is a condition in different stages patients are very sensitive to the loss of motor functions through a progresive loss of balance and coordination.

The Brain Muscle Workout bases its approach in the following variables

The Program will be based in converstations between The Brain Muscle workout Program and different doctors of the clinic to specify and tailor which program is more effective for the patient itself.

2.EXERCISE AND ALZHEIMER
The powerful effects of exercise are normally understimated with ALZHEIMER patients. Since the patient is diagnosed in the early stages it is neccesary to implement a powerful and effective physical exercise program with the goal in mind to improve motor functions, a gradual increase of balance, coordination and range of motion.
Brain Fitness is refered to the area to the brain that affects to all demands in life. Cognitive or movement play a very important role in improving the brain fitness of the patient.
Brain fitness typically seeks to improve attention, memory, thinking, and stress management. ^ NY Times Op-Ed Exercise on the Brain Author: Sandra Aamodt and Sam Wang Date: Nov 8 2007 Source: NY Times Op-Ed.
The Brain Muscle Workout Program stresses the importance of two powerful concepts:
-Intense brain activity and the effects of multitasking (raising heels and arms at the same time)
-Neural Plasticity (changing constantly the program). The program will consist of over 350 exercises structured in 9 progressive levels.
-Voice combined with a coordinated movement. Following succesful studies of LSVT/LOUD, where patients improved voice quality and many other important factors such as motor movement, swallowing or limb functioning.

3. THE BRAIN MUSCLE WORKOUT PROGRAM SEVERAL BENEFITS
The Brain Muscle Workout program is a physical progressive exercise program. The individualized program for clinics will include a personalized program consisting of over 350 different exercises structured in 9 different stages throughout the year. By continuously teasing the body with balance and coordination challenges, the program simultaneously stimulates the brain, muscles and nervous system.
The program has been endorsed by several experts in the medical field such as John Martin, (PhD Columbia University, neuroscientist specialist in the Motor System) or Dr Gregory Lombardo (Md Psychiatry).
According to Dr John Martin, specialist in the motor system at Columbia University, "Michael's exercises require new coordination patterns," says Martin. "They seem to mix a challenging posture requiring balance together with a limb movement. This may be similar to creating a cognitive reserve by learning a new language later in life, or learning to play a musical instrument. The exercises likely drive more neural activity in more parts of the brain. This can strengthen neural connections in the action systems of the brain. Perhaps, the more you need to think during a complex movement, the more you recruit connections in the cognitive systems of the brain. While speculative, this may be a way for exercises that require you to think about your moves to benefit parts of the brain for memory and for learning facts."

The Brain Muscle Workout Program stresses the importance of several powerful concepts while exercising:
-An Intense brain activity and the possitive effects of multitasking (raising heels and arms at the same time)
-Moderate cardiovascular and muscular activity
-Neural Plasticity (changing constantly the program). The program will consist of over 350 exercises structured in 9 progressive levels.
-Progressive Proprioception exercises will strengthen the soft tissues of the different individuals
-Constant change of the program will surprise the individual having to guess movements forcing the muscular, nervous ann cardiovascular system to work in harmony together
VARIABLES THAT WILL MODIFY FOR PARKINSON PATIENTS
The Brain Muscle Workout will tailor exercise programs for different patients modifying certain variables such as: range of motion, intensity, weight bearing or resting between the sets. In addition the perfect design of the initial and finishing movement are critical to guarantee success for this progressive exercise program.

The Brain Muscle Workout Program for Parkinson. Benefits
The benefits of implementing The Brain Muscle Workout Program will fall into three groups:
3.1Motor Skills:
Motor skills refers to the abilities which involve the use of hands, develop over time, starting with primitive gestures such as grabbing at objects to more precise activities that involve precise hand-eye coordination. Fine motor skills are skills that involve a refined use of the small muscles controlling the hand, fingers, and thumb. The development of these skills allows one to be able to complete tasks such as writing, drawing, and buttoning. *
The Brain Muscle Workout Program incorporates an active use of motor skills. The importance of exercising balance and coordination may help improve children's brain functioning in the following areas: attention, memory, multitasking, spatial memory and decision-making. For example raising heels and arms at the same time will improve kids’ attention and multitasking skills.

3.2 Psychiatric Benefits and Benefits in Academic Function
Regarding brain functioning, it is important to refer to the cerebellum, the area of the brain responsible for voluntary physical movement is connected by neurons to all parts of the cortex, the area of the brain responsible for higher order thinking. Nearly 80 studies have suggested a strong link between the movement and memory, spatial perception, language, attention, emotion, nonverbal cues, and decision-making (Jensen, 1998).
An essential feature of The Brain Muscle Workout is to improve the integration of motor activity carried on between the left and right hemisphere. This cannot help but improve problems with visual integration and with fine motor coordination and sensory-motor coordination, yielding improvement is some children’s reading and writing (both in the sense of handwriting and in the sense of composition).

3.3 Cardiovascular Benefits
Cardiovascular benefits seen with any regular aerobic exercise are particularly important in patients with Parkinson.
The Brain Muscle Workout improves cardiovascular function and glucose metabolism while a child is focused on another goal, removing the burden of shame that can accompany explicit attempts at weight management.
