WHY YOGA?
Yoga is a discipline and science dating back five thousand years; it accumulates the wisdom of several cultures and many great teachers. The benefits of yoga include improved strength, posture, breathing, concentration, relaxation, increased energy, and greater mind-mody integration--this makes yoga a great compliment to the Brain Muscle Workout!

BREATH, BODY, AND MIND

When doing yoga we learn to bring attention to all areas of the body, including those places that are weak or where we are tight and hold tension; doing this increases both flexibility and isometric strength, creating a body that is sturdy and agile.

One of the most important tools in yoga is the breath. By increasing the flexibility in the torso, we learn to breathe more fully and rhythmically. Yoga also emphasizes synchronization of breathing with movement--this develops concentration and strengthens the connection between body and mind, leading to greater proprioception and awareness of the body's subtle energies.
