Yoga increases our awareness--awareness of the way we move, where we hold tension in our bodies, and our sense of proprioception. Meditation brings us into close contact with the way our minds work, and through consistent practice we can begin to see through some of the mental patterns which may keep us stressed, agitated, or depressed. With self-awareness comes true self-acceptance and the ability to make ourselves into the best person we can be. Self awareness and acceptance through yoga also helps us to relate more compassionately with others and to live a full, rich life.
